The Place - il Gattopardo
A large former farmhouse called 'il Gattopardo’ sits in the hills just outside Cairo Montenotte in Liguria, Italy. The building dates back to 1787 and was fully restored in 2022. It now comprises 10 bedrooms, 2 kitchens as well as individual studios and larger communal areas.
It sits on a 20-hectare estate with rolling hills and fields. Il Gattopardo offers up to 6 artists a venue where they can work individually and/or collectively surrounded by a quiet and peaceful natural environment.
Around
The local town is a 4-minute car drive. For practical puroposes, at least one participant must have a car. The nearest town is Savona which is a 20 minute drive. The towns of Torino, Genova and Milano are within easy driving distance.
The local town has a small film museum which documents the history of the Ferrania film industry in the neighbouring community. An exhibition venue can be arranged if required.
